In conversation with Dennis Parker — NAXSA
NAXSA was an organization that was founded on the premise of zero deaths in the construction industry related to underground excavations. To me, the importance is all about maintaining that message and doing everything we can as a group of competitors and a group of manufacturers working with the rental houses to ensure that the proper use of our products helps get to the goal of zero deaths.
Our goal is going to be accomplished by educating our workforces both in the construction industry as a whole, educating their people, educating our salespeople, and working with the manufacturers in the engineering industry to simplify some of the decision making that’s required in the field by the contractors. We aim to give them a resource that will allow them to ask questions and get answers not from one manufacturer to another or one rental house to another, but as an industry standard.
I think we are gaining some serious momentum and we are making inroads into the contractors, working with OSHA. We are definitely making some serious gains in the consolidation and the commonality of the important engineering documents and the way we answer questions so that NAXSA can be the one resource for a contractor to go to their website or reach out to his local NAXSA representative and get a question answered that came from a group of engineers or a group of industry professionals.
